For the <strike>first five</strike> people that reply to me and re-post this challenge, I will send you something. It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD, or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome. Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 30 days or fewer. The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first five to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR LJ--'cause it's fun to give people stuff.

I don't actually care if you repost or not. I'm happy to send you stuff either way.
The comments are not screened, so don't leave your address there unless you want everyone to have it. You can leave your email or send your address to me at feelingcold at livejournal.

I think it's really unfortunate that so many people in the city have no clue about the amazing music being created right under their noses. The Acorn is one of my favorite bands. I've seen them roughly a million times. Listening to them makes me think of home.

Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats
It's that bouncy ball ad song. It's beautiful.

Lupe Fiasco- He Gets the Girl
The second Lupe song I ever heard. It's a little nothing of a joke song but it's what made me a fan. Lupe is a geeky fanboy and he gets the girl who happens to be a real person with, like, interests and stuff. Background encouragement from Pharrell.

Tricky- Hell is Round the Corner
I'm not a big Tricky fan but I can honestly say I love every single song on Maxinquaye.

Blue Rodeo- Hasn't Hit Me Yet
Oh, shut up. If you're Canadian I bet you know every word. I've taken part in more outdoor concert drunken singalongs than I'd like to admit.

There is someone new living in the apartment above this one. They have been waking me up just before 8am every morning by doing something which causes a loud thumping on the livingroom ceiling. It also causes the bedroom door to rattle in the frame, making a noise like this: CLICK CLACK! CLICK CLACK! CLICK CLACK!
I have narrowed the something down to either skipping with a jump rope or jumping on a pogostick. These are not apartment safe activities. I went up and knocked today but no one answered the door. They better not wake me up tomorrow morning.

Can fertilized chicken eggs be sold at the grocery store? I know that they usually are not but is there anything actually preventing them from being sold?

I just cracked two eggs both of which had fairly large spots in them. They are larger than any blood spots I've seen in grocery store eggs before.

I've only ever seen similar looking eggs when I was on the farm which leads me to think the eggs are fertilized. Absolutely everything I google says they are not, but they all give the same reason: grocery store eggs are never around roosters. Inside the egg carton it says that the farm includes roosters in it's flock for a 'normal social environment.'

I candled the rest of the eggs because I am paranoid and crazy. None have anything resembling veins. If they were taken and refrigerated within two days would you even be able to see a difference?

Chocolate! Zombie Jesus! Bunnies! Bob Bryar! Happy Easter!
I'm blaming my new punctuation issues on p,!.?atd.
I'm sorry about just ditching on some conversations last night. I don't know if there was a sudden increase in stupidity on livejournal, or if it was just my luck to be stumbling on idiotic comments all night long. I had nothing nice to say to anyone, and I could sense that I was moments away from completely freaking out in someone's comments. I decided to remove myself from the computer before I could start hijacking other people's journals and making an ass out of myself on the internet. More of an ass. Whatever.

I went outside and tried to teach myself to skateboard. It went about as badly as you would expect. I gave up and went inside to bleach out my roots. Now I have a good two inches of white, and no more purple dye left. It's not a good look. The store has green, yellow, and black veggie dyes. None of these are appealing, so I think I'm just going blond again.

This is how incredibly interesting my life has been lately.

I spent nearly half an hour watching goats on TV. Goats are hilarious! One of the small goats kept jumping on one of the larger goats. The larger goat would go about it's business with the little goat standing on his back. In my head I named them Frank and Bob, and I laughed myself sick watching them. I also named a tiny, spastic goat Brendon. When watching the band member alter ego goats got boring I danced around to Justin Timberlake.

From a product perspective it was more about creating a new registration process that was easier for new users to understand. I'm sure it's been ages since many of you signed up for an account, but it was quite confusing and included a table of options that was not very inviting to new users.

For new users to the site, the options of either having an ad-supported journal or the option to pay $20 annually for more (2GB) photo storage, more userpics, and ad-controls seems like a much simpler and easy to understand work-flow. We are working hard to add even more features and are currently revisiting our ad-supported strategy to find ways to deliver more user value in a way that isn't crass.

Wow. I'm almost impressed with this level of bullshit.
It wasn't to get rid of basic accounts, it was to streamline the registration process. Three options was just too damn confusing for people.

How long do you think it will take for people to start selling off their unused basic accounts? I'm sure a lot of users are like me, and still have a handful of them out there.

I'm annoyed that I can't add a rss feed of Jason Mraz's journal to my flist. Visiting websites is such hard work! Woe is me, etc.

Apparently I left Ottawa the day before one of my best friends got back into town. My timing is superb. I managed to stay a full week longer than planned, and still didn't see most of my friends. I had not planned on the amount of time it would take to clear out and clean the apartment, and then I got horribly sick and spent two days feverish and sleeping.

The trip was nice enough. They played The Acorn on the plane, and I got overly excited about it. I watched Into The Wild, and finished a book. My mom met me at the airport, so I didn't have to drag all my luggage myself.

The baby is bigger, and he smiles more.

So, you guys weren't kidding about the snow, eh?
The snow is piled higher than me on some of the lawns on my street. I'm impressed.
I was all cranky last night. Johnny met me at the airport, and we took the bus downtown. I left my crap at his place and walked home. I was somewhat of a bitch on the walk from the bus to Johnny's place. I was all "Fucking snow. Fucking Ottawa. Why didn't I take a taxi home? I want to be sleeping now. Boo Hiss."

Today I am feeling much better. I'm pretty sure I still have my skates here, so I can go skating on the canal! This sounds good in theory, but being stuck on the same plane from BC to Ontario was no fun. I couldn't eat anything they had on the plane, and I couldn't go into the airport to get food. I was up at 7am, got into Ottawa at 11pm, and had only two shitty airplane cookies in that span of time.

I left my notebook on a counter while filling out luggage tags. Someone must have read through it enough to figure out where I was flying, because it ended up at my gate. I was sitting waiting to board when a guy came on the speaker and said

"I've got this cool book up here, and I'm going to read the cover for you..."

It's this Japanese panda notebook with a lot of nonsense translations on it. This is what he read:

"Wanna be a Panda 'Hao' I'm not Panda! I don't have... Black Spot. I'm not Panda!!! So... I draw black spot. I want to be panda. I don't like rain."

So I'm sitting there all "That sounds just like my notebook!" before it clues in to me. I stared at him for a few seconds, then sprinted over to get it. It must have been amusing to witness. The people waiting for the plane applauded my idiocy. The guy was very enthusiastic about assuring me he hadn't read much that was written inside, which only makes me more convinced than he read a large amount of my dirty, dirty writing. Good times.

I got to watch infomercials in the air! Oh, West Jet, I am not fond of you.

I'll be in Ottawa tomorrow night 10:59pm. I like that they didn't even round to 11.

Stupid one way flight cost me $487, which is ridiculous. It's my own damn fault for leaving it to the last second to get tickets.

I have so much crap to get done today. Tomorrow I'll be at ticketmaster at 10am, getting panic tickets, then to the airport by one. It should be a hectic.

I can't wait to see people. I like Victoria, but I have no social life here. In Ottawa I can go out for drinks with friends! I am very excited at the idea of talking with people who are not my mother.

HOLY F'N COBRA

I'll make a real review post later, but right now I just want to say:

Cobra Starship was amazing. Most fun I've had at a show in years. Sweat through my shirt. Lost my voice. Lost (and found. yay.) my sweatshirt in the crowd. Gabe jumped on us, and nearly broke my digital camera.

Show was fantastic. Completely worth the exhaustion.

No one told me that We The Kings were hilarious.

I am lacking a PURE JOY type icon to further express how much fun I had.
